Who can join the Italian Club of Dallas? The Italian Club of Dallas is open to everyone – you don’t have to be or speak Italian. We have members of all ages, backgrounds, and degrees of connection to Italy – what all members share is an interest in Italian culture. How do I join? You can join on our website. At this point you can complete the transaction on the internet thru PayPal or print the form and mail it. You can also pick up a membership form at the Club and submit it in person or mail it in. Do I have to join the Club before attending an event? No. Most events (including Cena) are open to Guests, but check the Calendar for information about special events that may require advance reservations. The best way to join the Club is online [LINK to Join Us/Sign Up], but you are also able to join at the Clubhouse. Translations

The Italian Club of Dallas does not offer official translation services but we have members and other contacts who have this knowledge. As an Italian Club of Dallas member, one can always ask for informal help from our Italian-speaking members. If you need formal Italian translation services, send an e-mail to our Translation Coordinator at translation@itcd.org and our coordinator will refer you to people or organizations that may be able help you, depending on the text. This is a referral service only and the Italian Club of Dallas does not take any responsibility for any problem that may arise from the referral.

Earthquake Relief for Italian Disaster We have all been saddened by the news of the massive and devastating Italian earthquake. If you want to help, the Italian Club of Dallas will accept donations for earthquake relief. Either write a check to the Italian Club of Dallas, indicating “earthquake relief” in the memo line or donate through this event ticket. The donations will be consolidated with monies raised by other Italian cultural and heritage groups in Texas, including the COMITES, and the monies will provided to a needy charity or an Abruzzo regional government agency helping those in need. Our Mission

The mission of the Italian Club is to explore, preserve and promote Italian culture, language, history and traditions; perform charitable works; and foster social interaction within the community.

The Italian Club of Dallas(ICD) is a 30 year old cultural organization focused on the preservation and promotion of the Italian culture. Besides offering Italian language, traditional dance and Italian culinary arts lessons, the ICD is committed to participation in the community through charitable works with groups like the Special Olympics, Cranial Facial Organization and Hunger Busters. The ICD holds a variety of special events, lectures, movies and dinners that exhibit all elements of the Italian culture. The ICD is a 501c(3) not for profit organization.

Come join us at our signature event for good company, good food and wholesome fun. The Club is full of good cooks, so the meal is always a treat. Come sit with friends and enjoy a plate of pasta (and/or other Italian specialties) and a beverage of your choice. All are welcome! This is a kid-friendly event. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and dinner is served until 7:30. The cost of the meal is $18 for Members, $25 for Guests, and $40 for member families with children under 12.

A fine selection of Italian wine and beers will be available.

Check the Calendar for specific dates and schedule – Cena is usually every Friday of the month.

Since we rely on volunteers to set-up, cook, serve and clean-up, please contact Chef Tomasso

Board of Directors

The Italian Club of Dallas is governed by an elected board of directors. Board seat elections take place in November each year with a number of seats being available for election to a 3 year term. The Board is comprised of 9 members in good standing. Officers are elected by the board through a nomination process. Officer positions include President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. Various committees exist both permanently and ad hoc to assist the board in the execution of club activities and duties for the membership. See Committees. The Board meets the first Tuesday of the month at the ICD Clubhouse. All members are welcome to attend but must be on the agenda to present a request. The Glorious Origin of The Italian Club of Dallas

by Roberto Agostini, October 1997 In the early 1970’s Italians and Italophiles would congregate in the home of Irene Kidder. At first we were 10 to 15 people, but by the mid-1970s we had become a group of 60 to 70 people–feasting, dancing, and discussing Italian events and culture. Irene proposed the idea to form an Italian club. In 1977, in the Kidder’s living room, the Italian Club of Dallas was born. The first board of directors was formed: president Roberto Agostini, chairman Tony Bifano, treasurer Connie Klemow, heads of several committees–Bianca Pellizzi, Mary Lou Turner, Enzo DeNardo, Maria and David Marshello, Lou Antahades, Evelyn Hudson, George Arellano, Vincent Manley, and Jimmy Marigliano. Soon after David Kidder prepared the necessary by-laws, and in July 1977, the Italian Club of Dallas was officially incorporated. The Six Annual Mother's Day Celebration Mother’s Day is a special day for honoring Mothers throughout the world, and at the Italian Club of Dallas it has become a much anticipated event.
